Terms of Service

Last updated July 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of AppOrbit(the “Service”), a public directory and leaderboard of mobile apps and their revenue. By accessing the Service, submitting a listing, or claiming a sponsor slot, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.

2. What AppOrbit is

AppOrbit lets founders publish their app and share its revenue metrics on a public leaderboard. We aggregate and display information that founders choose to submit, including metrics pulled from connected third-party providers. We are a directory and showcase. We are not an investment platform, a broker, or a financial adviser, and nothing on the Service is financial, legal, or tax advice.

3. Submitting a listing

When you publish a listing, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the app, or are authorized by its owner to list it and connect its data.
  • The information you submit is accurate and not misleading, and you will keep it reasonably up to date.
  • You have the right to grant us the licenses described in these Terms, and your listing does not infringe anyone’s rights or violate any law.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit, including names, taglines, descriptions, links, and images. We may edit, refuse, or remove any listing at our discretion, including listings we believe are inaccurate, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.

4. Revenue data & connected keys

To verify and display live metrics, you may connect a read-only provider key (for example, a RevenueCat API key). By connecting a key, you authorize us to fetch the metrics associated with it on a recurring basis and display them on your public listing.

What we collect

Only aggregate, revenue-related metrics, such as:

  • Monthly recurring revenue (MRR) and revenue over recent periods
  • Active subscription and trial counts
  • New-customer and active-user counts (totals only)
  • Growth trends and revenue history
  • Aggregate revenue grouped by country or region
  • Public app information you provide, such as name, icon, description, and store links

What we do not collect

We never access, store, or display any of your customers’ personal information, including their names, email or physical addresses, phone numbers, payment-method or card details, or individual transactions. Your customer data stays private. We only ever see aggregate numbers.

Key security

Use a read-only key with the minimum permissions needed. Connected keys are encrypted at rest, are never shown to other users, and are never returned to the browser. A read-only key cannot be used to modify your account, issue refunds, or access customer data. Removing your listing deletes the associated key.

Metrics are provided by third parties and shown “as reported.” We do not modify them, do not independently audit them, and do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.

5. Ownership without accounts

AppOrbit does not require you to create an account. Instead, control of a listing is tied to a device token stored in your browser. Anyone with access to that browser or token can manage the associated listings. Keep your device secure. If you clear your browser storage or switch devices, you may lose the ability to manage a listing unless you have linked it using your provider key.

6. Alien Mode & UFO launches

The Service offers privacy features that hide a founder’s identity (“Alien Mode”) or an app’s identity (“UFO launch”). These features reduce what is displayed publicly but are not a guarantee of anonymity. Information you provide elsewhere, correlations in your data, or legal process may still reveal identity. Do not rely on these features to conceal information you are legally required to disclose.

7. Apps listed for sale

Founders may indicate that an app is for sale and share contact details or an asking price. AppOrbit merely surfaces this information. We are not a party to, broker of, or guarantor of any transaction between a buyer and seller. We do not verify asking prices, ownership, or the ability to transfer an app. Any negotiation, agreement, payment, and transfer is solely between the parties involved, at their own risk.

8. Sponsor slots & advertising

Sponsor slots are paid placements billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor. By claiming a slot you authorize the recurring charge until you cancel. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your placement ends at the close of the current billing period.

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may reject or remove any sponsor content that is unlawful, misleading, or inconsistent with the Service, without refund. Sponsored placements do not constitute an endorsement by AppOrbit.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, inflated, or misleading metrics, or connect a key you are not authorized to use.
  • Impersonate any person or app, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Scrape, spam, overload, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or circumvent rate limits or security controls.
  • Post content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful, or that contains malware.
  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.

10. Intellectual property & your license to us

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant AppOrbit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you remove the content, except for copies retained in backups or as required by law.

The AppOrbit name, logo, design, and software are our property and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without prior written permission.

11. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties such as RevenueCat, payment processors, and app-store platforms. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their handling of your data.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Metrics, rankings, and listings are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for any decision without independent verification.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AppOrbit and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AppOrbit and its operator from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

15. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, and remove any listing or sponsor content, at any time and for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and remove your listings at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date below. Material changes will take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
