About AppOrbit
Real revenue numbers, verified at the source.
What is AppOrbit?
AppOrbit is a marketplace of mobile apps ranked by what they actually earn. Every listing shows MRR, revenue over the trailing 28 days, and downloads, all pulled from the app’s own billing data. No screenshots, no self-reported numbers, no estimates. So when a listing says “$142 MRR”, that figure came from the platform that processed the money. Founders get an honest benchmark, and everyone else gets numbers worth reading.
How is revenue verified?
Founders connect their listing through RevenueCat, the subscription platform their app already uses for billing. AppOrbit reads the app’s live metrics server-side using the founder’s own API key: MRR, active subscriptions, revenue, and the daily revenue trend all come straight from RevenueCat’s reporting API. Nothing is typed in by hand. Keys are encrypted at rest, used only on the server, and never exposed to the browser, logged, or returned in any response.
What “verified” means, and what it doesn’t
Verified means the revenue figures are read programmatically from the founder’s RevenueCat account rather than claimed. It does not mean AppOrbit audits anyone’s books. Revenue outside RevenueCat (one-off ads, sponsorships, web sales on another stack) isn’t captured, and figures are shown exactly as the platform reports them. Listings can also use Alien Mode (anonymous founder) or UFO Mode (hidden app identity). In both cases the numbers stay verified even when the identity is private.
How fresh is the data?
Metrics sync from RevenueCat continuously, and each listing page shows a “verified … as of” date next to the RevenueCat badge so you can see exactly when its numbers were last pulled. The leaderboard itself refreshes at most once a minute.
Who builds AppOrbit?
AppOrbit is built and run by Daniel Atitienei, an indie app developer. The first listings on the board are his own apps: founding listings that seeded the directory with real, verified data from day one. Any founder can add their app for free, and questions are always welcome via the FAQ or the contact link in the footer.
